BURIAL
(2023) Bronze, pewter, sand, resin, limestone, and plywood,136 x 90 x 32 cm
The themes of Burial focus on the 22K littered man-made objects in orbit, exploring their discard nature, the danger they pose when they  fall from the sky and the monuments they create when they land. This work consists of a layered infrastructure, representing a cavernous underground scene where objects appear lodged or displaced when returning to Earth

TERRAFORMING COMPONENT
(2023) Bronze, sand and bio-resin, 25 x 15 x 6cm
‘Terraforming Component’ was inspired by a term coined in the science-fiction short story, ‘Collision Orbit’ by Jack Williamson. The concept involves intentionally modifying planetary atmospheres so they are habitable. There are scientists considering this application as a process for future worlds. This sculpture marks the beginning of a critique on the level of intentional human interference on the environment.

SCULPTURE TO SURVIVE A METEORITE IMPACT
(2021) Ancaster Weatherbed Limestone, 21 x 21 x 26 cm

‘Impact’ marked the beginning of research into sculptures built to survive extreme circumstances. This piece was designed to theoretically survive a meteorite impact. It is a satirical design consisting of a hard, half sphere with protruding spikes designed to anchor the base into the ground. The top formed a hard disk with a spiraling cut out where, on a much bigger scale, soft raised sections would be added to cushion or repel impacting meteorites. For this sculpture, I chose a weatherbed limestone continuing the theme of transformation by force. The sedimentary structure can be clearly identified within the stone from intense compression.
