ORIGAMI METEORITE (i & ii)

(2021) Stone lithograph, 6 x 6 x 7cm
(2021) Rag Paper, iron mordant, stone dye and thread

The ‘Origami Meteorites’ were inspired by the historical relationship between paper and space mechanics. Because of the papers material memory it is frequently used to map spacecraft structures. One examples is the Miura fold invented in 1996 to design the Space Flyer Unit. Using origami to represent spatial objects seemed cohesive with reconstructing my meteorite.
